History

It is over 120 years ago that this business was started by John McKinney (senior) when as a young Northern Irelander he settled in Toowoomba in 1884.

The business prospered under his efforts and was then handed on to his son Kenneth until his death in 1967.

The present generation of John and his three daughters have taken the business to a different level as proprietors of the national jewellers Hardy Brothers from 1988 – 1997.

Our present location at Emporium in Brisbane, Australia sets a new standard of excellence.
